I have a cute little Sansa Sandisk MP3 player. In the past I wasn't all that attached to having portable music but now that I have this, a "napster to go" subscription, and a account I use it all the time, especially since it's so easy to plug into stereos and bring a whole bunch of music in a tiny little device. However, now that I'm so in love, 4g is not enough space. One band leads to another in this social networking world and I want to download more than can fit at any given time.

So I'd love to hear recommendations from friends if you have a fave player that's 8g or larger & not too expensive. I am seeking anything but ipod, due to the fact that I'm using Napster and would prefer not to be tethered to iTunes.

Oh, the Zune's look kinda cool if you are still boycotting getting tied into Apple products. There are tons of off-brand MP3 players, but I think you want want that sinks really well with either Windows Media Player or iTunes after the problems you've had with your current one.

The Zune looks neat but a quick scan of the reviews makes it seem that it does NOT sync with WMP (which is odd since they are both from Microsoft) and requires its own software & you have to use the "Zune" store to get music, can't use Napster. I think they have some work to do on that one, unless I missed the news where these issues were fixed.

I have a Creative jukebox, but I think their customer service SUCKS. Avoid that brand if you can.

I bought a mp3 player about 4 years ago from iRiver. At the time it was holding it's own against the first generation Ipods. I use it daily and like it a lot. However it looks like they have fallen way behind in the game. I looked at their web site this morning and they didn't have anything better than what you already have.

That's the problem with company's dominating the market. If you want something different you are hard pressed to find it.
